Whether a booked session or a self-guided visit, just download our enquiry form and send back to us with your ideas for your visit. Alternatively, you can send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org with your request or call the Learning Team on 0113 2181093 and we can go through the booking process with you.
How to Book
Once you’ve decided which session you would like to book, or if you would like to come to Harewood on a self-guided visit, send us your ‘Enquiry Form’ and we will begin to process your booking. Don’t worry if you don’t have all the information at this stage, we will get in touch with you to finalise details or discuss options. Please feel free to phone or email if you’re not sure of anything.
Once we have arranged your visit, you will be sent a booking confirmation letter with all practical information for your visit, including Health & Safety guidelines, session risk assessments and two complimentary tickets for teachers to undertake a pre-visit. Most schools prefer to pay by invoice, which we issue after the visit.

This year we are open to the public and schools right through to January 2021, although we close the House for two weeks in November to prepare for Christmas.
During open season, educational groups can visit any day of the week. Our workshops and tours are also available throughout the year unless stated otherwise.
Visiting out of season
Educational groups can still visit Harewood, even if we are closed to the public. We offer led workshops and outdoor tours during our closed season and can organise a full-day package for you and your pupils. Come and have Harewood all to yourself and enjoy it during its quiet, winter months.
We offer two complimentary teacher tickets once a booking is confirmed. This will enable you to visit Harewood at a time that is convenient to you to undertake planning and complete a risk assessment. We are happy to meet with you as part of your pre-visit.
If you have booked onto a workshop or tour, we will send a session outline at booking stage along with a risk assessment for the session you have booked.
We can provide you with Health & Safety guidelines for a self-guided visit. Our tours and workshops have specific risk assessments which we issue once your booking is confirmed.
We have lots of picnic tables and sheltered outdoor seating for school groups to use, closely accessible to toilets. Schools are also free to picnic on the grass in dry weather.
Unfortunately, we have limited indoor space for lunches. Schools booking onto half-day or full-day workshops are given priority for use of an indoor lunch space.
Bags can be stored in an indoor space for half-day or full-day workshops. If you have booked onto a House tour, bags and coats can be stored in the Hall of the main house for the duration of your tour.
For all other bookings, we recommend you leave bags on your coach until needed. The coach park is very near the main facilities, picnic areas and adventure playground so can be easily accessed.
Access and Special Needs
Information on access across the site can be found here.
We strongly advise teachers to undertake a pre-visit, particularly if they are bringing pupils with mobility or access needs. We can provide teachers with two complimentary tickets when a booking is confirmed, and will happily meet with you to discuss your needs.
It is important that you let us know at booking stage the needs of your group and we will work with you in making sure these are met.
Help with transport
Transport can sometimes be the most expensive part of planning a school trip!
Harewood has a special arrangement with the Grammar School at Leeds (GSAL) who, as part of their charitable status, are able to provide schools with coaches at a subsidised rate. We can put you in touch with GSAL to book your coach travel to Harewood and make your trip that little bit more affordable.
