We’ve got a fantastic fortnight of activities for our kids’ holiday club this Easter – get out and about in the fresh air and enjoy Spring!
For 7-12 year olds
We’ll be doing lots of outdoor activities, games and creative activities inspired by all things Harewood – from paper marbling to making sketchbooks, den-building, kite-making and outdoor tree art.
We’ll be visiting the House for inspiration for creating our own Harewood wrapping paper, visiting the Himalayan Garden for a treasure hunt and going behind the scenes to see some of our Spring chicks! Each day will include outdoor and indoor activities, as well as fun games led by our friendly learning team.
There is a maximum of 15 children on each day. Children can come on single days, for the full 3 days each week or for the full two weeks.
Here is a glimpse of the schedule:
Tuesday 7th April – Flower Power!
Activities: ink-marbling to make Easter cards and sketchbooks, making hand-printed wrapping paper inspired by designs in the House. Plus outdoor games and a treasure trail in the Himalayan garden with some outdoor sketching
Wednesday 8th April – Tremendous Trees!
Activities: We’ll be making art from trees – taking rubbings, making collage, clay impressions and outdoor sculptures. Followed by den-building and some outdoor games and a spot of orienteering in the great outdoors
Thursday 9th April – Take Flight!
Activities: An Easter Egg hunt in the bird garden, a visit ‘behind the scenes’ to see how our birds and chicks are looked after followed by making and flying our own bird-inspired kites
Tuesday 14th April – Digging in!
Activities: Making vegetable-print patterns, decorating a spring plant pot and doing a bit of gardening in the Walled Garden. Plus an outdoor Spring scavenger hunt and team challenges outdoors.
Wednesday 15th April – Low Down, Up High!
Activities: Den-building, orienteering, bug-hunting and making a bug hotel – discover life in the trees and underground. We’ll also be thinking about our native birds and making our own origami birds and brightly coloured bird mobiles.
Thursday 16th April – Treasure Stories!
Activities: A visit to the House on a treasure-trail, discovering stories and people from Harewood’s past. We’ll be creating our own treasure maps for us to discover Harewood treasure out in the grounds.
