We are seeking a dynamic People Manager to deliver our HR and People services and support the Trust’s ambitions through the implementation of policies, strategy and procedures.

As People Manager, you’ll work across the whole employee lifecycle, providing professional and proactive support for staff, ensuring the Trust is legally compliant in all HR related matters and promote a positive and inclusive working culture. 

KEY RESULT AREAS

HR Services

  • Assist managers with HR support, advice, guidance, training, skills and tools to proactively manage their teams effectively.
  • Advise on employee relations issues, at all times ensuring best practice, legal compliance and policies and procedures are adhered to and, where necessary, partnering with external employment advisers.
  • Ensure all HR policies and procedures are reviewed annually and compliant with legal requirements and best practice.
  • Develop and implement performance management systems and provide support and training for staff.
  • Collate information from staff personal development plans and produce annual training & development plan.
  • Support managers with the induction of new staff including the design and delivery of induction programs.
  • Thorough knowledge of current HR employment legal case law to minimise risk for Harewood House Trust.
  • Provide one to one education and training sessions or group workshop sessions to upskill our people.
  • Implement absence procedures and advise managers and staff accordingly. Take an active role in the management of sickness absence as appropriate.
  • Manage recruitment and selection processes including advertising of all vacancies as required and provide support for recruiting managers as appropriate.
  • Align HR strategy as directed by the Deputy CEO with operational goals.
  • Support in any change management processes.

HR Administration

  • Establish and maintain appropriate information systems for all staff including personal files, new employee details, holidays, and absence records.
  • Laise with managers and our payroll providers to collate and prepare monthly payroll data including accurately calculating and processing all wages / deductions as per employee contracts and policies, including statutory payments etc.
  • Carry out general HR administration including new starters, pension letters, leavers, reference requests, employee benefits (e.g. Employee Assistance Programme).
  • Collate and monitor People data (e.g. employee turnover, sickness absence etc).
  • Produce People reports including management information as required by the Deputy CEO and the Executive.

Diversity & Inclusion / Health & Wellbeing

  • Promote an inclusive organisational culture true to our values that supports anti-racism in all its forms.
  • Ensure diversity & inclusion is at the heart of all HR processes and that our policies meet the needs of a diverse workforce.
  • Effectively chair the EDI working group and staff forum.
  • Keep up to date with legal requirements and best practice in HR and associated areas including diversity & inclusion, and health & wellbeing.

Other

  • Undertake HR projects as agreed/directed by the Deputy CEO.
  • Maintain and ensure complete confidentiality of any data encountered during day to day activities in accordance with the Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018 and deal with any matters in a sensitive and appropriate manner.
  • Manage the People budget and adhere to Trust financial practices and guidelines.
  • Undertake any other duties as reasonably required by the Deputy CEO.
