Unlike their cousins, the llamas, alpacas were bred specially for their hair, which is often made into wool for weaving.
Turn off your screens, get the kids closer to nature, the Alpacas walk each weekend for just over an hour and twice each day at 10.15am and 2.15pm, with time to get them ready, feed them, learn more about them and take in the peace and tranquillity of their calming nature. They’re great.
You can also join our expert keeper on an ‘after hours’ Alpaca walk whilst taking in the breathtaking views of Harewood House, Grounds and Gardens. This experience gives you the opportunity to see parts of Harewood rarely seen by our visitors. Our keeper will take you on a 2 hour walk around the Grounds whilst we are closed to the general public, this really is an exclusive treat!
