As part of this exhibitions looking at landscape, and how artists have been inspired to make observations from nature to lead them to formal or symbolic abstraction, we showed stunning works of acclaimed contemporary artist Clare Woods.
The exhibition explored the relationship between people and the landscape, and included four ambitious new works inspired by the history and landscape of Harewood.
The title of Woods’ solo show at Harewood, The Seven Eggs, itself comes from an 18th century folly of the same name set in the Grounds here; once with a vista, it is now surrounded by trees and has become reclaimed by the landscape.
