One of a set of four George III pier tables by Thomas Chippendale the Younger.
Supplied for £192 together with the matching pier glasses in 1797, the four pier tables in the Gallery are the only pieces at Harewood that can definitely be attributed to Chippendale the Younger. The 1797 invoice of January 13th records that the marble tops were the work of one of the best known provincial sculptors, Fisher of York.
