Anne, Lady Harewood with her infant daughter Frances Lascelles

Anne is shown with her infant daughter, Frances. She had two sons and two daughters. The youngest daughter Mary Ann was involved in a minor scandal in 1801 when she eloped with Richard York, the son of a wealthy Leeds merchant.

Additional Information

Anne, daughter of William Chaloner of Guisborough, and sister of Mrs Hale ‘Euphrosyne’, married Edward Lascelles on May 12th 1761. The daughter is Frances Lascelles, born June 11, 1762. She married the Hon. John Douglas in 1784, and died March 31, 1817. The sittings for this portrait took place in 1762 and 1764.
