Visitors to this year’s CLA Game Fair, to be held at Harewood House in Yorkshire from Friday 31 July until Sunday 2 August, will be able to easily use social media sites and email thanks to the installation of 12 free-to-use WIFI Hotspots situated around the show site.
Designed to enable showgoers to use communications technology more effectively while at the CLA Game Fair, the WIFI Hotspots will each provide coverage of an area of around 50 metres in diameter and can support around 30-50 concurrent users at any one time, equating to up to 7,200 users per hour across the whole of the showground.
All visitors have to do to access a WIFI Hotspot is complete a short online registration and they can then make use of the free service. Details of users accessing the WIFI Hotspots, which will be sponsored by leading CLA Game Fair exhibitors, will be sent to each sponsor and the CLA Game Fair team.
The service is supported by industry standard WIFI network technology underpinned by satellite Internet connectivity, with connectivity and systems provided by SWAP Event Technology Solutions.
The WIFI Hotspots and improved communications coverage are thanks to a £130,000 investment in technology provided by the CLA and show sponsors.
Tony Wall, Director of the CLA Game Fair, commented: “For many people sharing their experiences on social media is an important part of their lives. I am certain our 12 free WIFI Hotspots will be extremely popular and will go a long way to enhancing visitors’ overall experience of the CLA Game Fair.”
