Autumn Treats for Members

To say a big thank you for supporting Harewood, we like to give our Members extra perks on top of your year-round benefits. Here are your Autumn Treats!

We hope to have a few more exclusives for you as the season progresses, so keep an eye on the Members’ Noticeboard for more coming soon.

Bring a friend for free to the Artisan Winter Market

We are really looking forward to this year’s brand new Artisan Winter Market, on Thursday 3 to Sunday 6 November.

Harewood Members are welcome to bring a friend for free on the Thursday or Friday of the Market. This offer admits one friend per Membership (e.g. one person per Couple, if you have a Couple Membership), and your friend must arrive with you so you can show your Membership card to redeem the offer. There is no need to pre-book.

Explore Harewood's portraits: activity for children

Inspired by the new portrait of Arthur France on display at Harewood, families can enjoy learning more about Harewood’s portrait collection with this Member-exclusive activity.

Pick up an activity pack in the Entrance Hall, then explore the House’s collection of portraits. Children will enjoy looking at colours, shapes and the faces of Harewood’s historical figures, and get thinking about what the artist and the sitter wanted to convey with their grand pictures.

After seeing the portrait in the new display Arthur France: Son of a Small Island, everyone can draw their own self-portrait, looking as grand, serious or silly as you like!

You’ll need to show your Membership card in the Entrance Hall to get this activity.

Discovery Talks: find out something new when you visit the House

Every day during September and October, delve into a fascinating aspect of Harewood’s history with daily Discovery Talks at midday, free for Members.

Until Sun 2 Oct – The Portrait of Lady Worsley
Learn about Lady Worsley, who you may know from the TV show The Scandalous Lady W starring Natalie Dormer. Discover her connection to Harewood and her infamous divorce in the 18th century.

Mon 3 Oct to Sun 23 Oct – The State Bed
Harewood’s State Bed is an astonishing piece of Chippendale furniture. Hear about the famous people who slept in it, and how it’s been restored to its current glory.

Ask in the Entrance Hall when you visit and a team member will direct you to the Discovery Talk.

Autumn Glory: free activities for Members during October half term

Join us in October half-term for plenty of seasonal activities, much of which will be free for Members – check back for more details soon!

Evening Preview of Long Live the Christmas Tree! with Prosecco

After the Members’ Preview Day for Long Live the Christmas Tree! on Friday 11 November, we are pleased to invite Members to an Evening Preview with Prosecco, from 5-7pm.

We are so grateful to Members who have supported us throughout the pandemic, and those who have been with us for many years. Members are very welcome to join us for a special festive evening as we launch Long Live the Christmas Tree!, with drinks, nibbles and the chance to see this unique contemporary exhibition before it opens to the public on Saturday. Hear from the leaders of Harewood House Trust before browsing our traditionally untraditional Christmas installation with glass in hand.

Places are limited for this special evening. Please RSVP to membership@harewood.org to secure your place (there is no need to RSVP if you had already booked via our online system for an evening slot).
