Each year the charity needs to generate more than £3.5 million from earned income, grants and donations to protect and develop the house and landscape and to continue to offer our pioneering exhibitions and innovative learning and community programmes which reach thousands of people each year.

Make a Donation
Your donations enable us to promote the study and appreciation of Harewood as a place of historic and cultural interest, and a place of natural beauty. One-off or regular donations can be attributed to an aspect of our work which resonates with you, whether that be vital conservation and maintenance work to preserve the historic fabric of the house; work to develop and maintain our expansive grounds and gardens or support of our education and community programmes.

Gift Aid
If you are a UK taxpayer, you can make your donation go further with Gift Aid. Using Gift Aid means that for every £1 you donate to Harewood, we can claim an additional 25p from HM Revenue and Customs at no extra cost to you. This means that a £10 donation to Harewood is worth £12.50.
Tax Effective Giving
You might wish to take advantage of tax relief to allow your gift to go further. However you choose to donate, 100% of your gift will go towards supporting the work of the Harewood House Trust. As a registered charity no. 517753 donations to Harewood House Trust can be enhanced via tax-efficient giving. Higher rate (40%) and Additional Rate (45%) taxpayers can also reclaim the difference between the basic rate and their top rate of tax on the value of their gift. For example, a donor paying UK tax at 40% could support Harewood with a £1,000 donation, at a net cost of just £600. A gift of £800 grows to £1,000 when Gift Aid is added at the basic rate of tax. The donor can claim higher rate relief of £200, which is the difference between basic rate and higher rate tax. Once this relief is deducted from the original gift, the net cost to the donor is reduced to £600.
