Unlike their cousins, the llamas, alpacas were bred specially for their hair, which is often made into wool for weaving.
Zebedee and Zucchini have been living at Harewood for six years. Completely settled and totally friendly, we’re now offering the opportunity for you to get up close and personal by taking them for a walk and seeing a different view of Harewood.
Turn off your screens, get the kids closer to nature, the Alpacas walk every Monday and Thursday for an hour and twice each day at 11.30am and 2.30pm, with time to get them ready, feed them, learn more about them and take in the peace and tranquillity of their calming nature. They’re great.
Individual bookings:
Individual £55 (age 13 years and over):
Family (2+2) £100
*Minimum age requirement for an Alpaca walk is 13 years
Children under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian throughout the Experience. Accompanying adults will be required to pay normal Harewood admission prices, but will not be required to pay for the Alpaca walking Experience.
Tickets to Harewood or a valid membership are required in addition to this experience ticket.
Family bookings:
This is a fun and educational experience for the family.
Family Experience – £100 (2 adults and 2 children minimum age 7 years)
Members Family Experience – £90 (2 adults and 2 children minimum age 7 years)
* All 4 people must be named on the membership
* The experience lasts 1 hour
*Minimum age requirement for the Alpaca walk is 13 years, Children aged between 7-12 years can join in the family experience but will not be able to lead or hold the Alpaca rope. We cannot accept any children on the family experience under 7yrs of age, this includes babies.

Are there any restrictions?
Yes, there are some restrictions to this experience.
Our walks run whether rain or shine, sleet or snow so please dress according to weather forecasts and be prepared for our temperamental British weather.
The trek options require a moderate level of physical capability for you to be able to participate fully. We must be made aware of any medical condition or physical impairment which may affect your ability to participate. This includes; visual or hearing impairments and pregnancy. If you are unsure of your ability to participate, please discuss this with us and we can advise on the best option for you.
