The Bird Garden at Harewood is home to over 90 exotic and rare species of birds from all over the world - from those with fabulous plumage, frendly calls and funny habits to those with flippers, fringes and freaky faces! You can meet them all in the Bird Garden...
The Gardens have a long history of cultivating the exotic. Plant-hunting expeditions to the Himalayas, as well as the earlier the Victorian fashion for everything 'a la mode francaise' meant bananas, pineapples, aubergines, passion fruit, figs and peaches were grown in profusion at Harewood. Visit the Walled Kitchen Garden today and see the work taking place in creating 12 huge new vegetable beds to supply the Courtyard and Courtyard shop! You can read more about this here...
The Courtyard Cafe will be part of the action too with a special menu celebrating global cuisine!
This event is free as part of Heritage Open Days so come along, bring a picnic for a glorious summer day of fun and entertainment at Harewood!
