Friday 14 July 2017
6pm – 8pm
Join us for a members’ only event in the House, to launch the new edition of the Harewood Guidebook. Written by David Lascelles, Earl of Harewood, the guidebook explores 500 years of history from Harewood Castle to present day.
Copies of the new Guidebook edition and the new Children’s Guidebook, “The Explorer’s Guide to Harewood House” will be on sale, and Lord Harewood will be signing copies on the evening.
There will also be an opportunity to have a private view of the new exhibition by Frank Walter (1926 – 2009) in the Terrace Gallery and the new display of Charlotte, Lady Canning’s watercolours from her days in India.
Flamboyant Trees is the first presentation of Walter’s work in England. Presented with the Ingleby Gallery, it includes 63 works from this newly discovered Antiguan artist, whose work is currently representing the country at the Venice Biennale.
Enjoy a glass of sparkling wine, explore the House after hours, and enjoy the atmosphere of the State Rooms on a summers evening with fellow Harewood House Trust Members.
All Guidebook sales on the evening will go to Harewood House Trust. As a charity, your support as a Harewood Member makes a significant difference to the Trust, and helps us take care of this special place and continue our ambitious educational programme.
Booking is essential. Places are limited and will be issued on a first come, first served basis. Please call 0113 218 1001 or email firstname.lastname@example.org to secure your place.
