Harewood is a place of activity and lifelong learning, created by generations of architects, artists, designers, collectors, gardeners, and the people who have lived and worked here. It is a place for inspiration. We aim to promote the understanding and enjoyment of Harewood as a place of historic and contemporary interest.
As an Educational Charitable Trust, the learning offer at Harewood is special and unique because of its ability to offer such a wide range of educational activities for schools. We have over 40 sessions for teachers to choose from, based in the House, Bird Garden and Grounds, as well as offering bespoke sessions for Secondary and Higher Education groups.
Harewood has been recognised for educational excellence and has been awarded a Sandford Award from the Heritage Education Trust for its Formal Learning programme. This award lasts for five years, and was last awarded in 2013.
We also offer a rich and diverse range of opportunities for adult learning, from lectures and talks to hands on practical activities such as embroidery and pottery workshops. Go to the events page to find out more.
